BioButane Technologies Restore Drinking Quality in Wells
|
|
Highlighted below are the latest sampling results for GBI's application of Butane Biostimulation Technologies at a Sunoco Service Station located in Massachusetts. A total of 12 injection wells were installed on-site, and in October, 2000, GBI installed two butane injection panels equipped with air compressors under a DEP approved RAM Plan. Four monitoring wells, MW-1 through MW-4 are located inside the butane treatment zone. Two of three wells that originally showed contaminant concentrations above the GW-1 standard have been restored to drinking quality within 9 months of biobutane treatment. Groundwater sampling was conducted by Handex Corporation for Sunoco.
